FAQs

During your first visit, our team will take the required radiographs and a complimentary intra-oral health scan. Dr. Pashmini will then review the findings and examine your teeth thoroughly. She will then develop a customized preventative and restorative plan to help you improve and maintain your oral health. Prior to scheduling any of the recommended treatment, her team will provide you with a detailed financial estimate. You will then get scheduled at a time or day that works for you and your busy schedule.

Depending on your periodontal health and the condition of your gums, we will recommend a regular prophy or a deep cleaning. In most cases, a regular cleaning can be done during your first visit. However, if a deep cleaning is needed, we will have you scheduled to return since the deep cleaning requires more time and usually multiple visits to complete.

At Serenity Dental Spa, we use the latest intra-oral scanner on the market, the Itero Lumina. The scanner can be used instead of impressions in most cases. Scans are more accurate and take less than 5 minutes to complete without the hassle of dealing with traditional impression materials.

No. Dental cleanings are considered actual procedures and by law, a dental examination and diagnosis is required prior to any dental procedures.

No. ZOOM whitening is done by applying high concentration of hydrogen peroxide to the teeth for an extended amount of time. A dental examination is required prior to this treatment to ensure no damage is done in the process and to minimize sensitivity associated with the whitening.
There are many professional and over the counter whitening options available to patients. Professional teeth whitening procedures are generally safe when performed by a qualified dentist. A dental checkup is recommended prior to considering any whitening options. However, it’s important to avoid over-the-counter whitening products that contain harsh chemicals without first consulting your dentist as they can result in tooth sensitivity.
Mild sedation is a safe and effective way to help patients relax during dental procedures. However, prior to deciding on the method of sedation, your medical history will be reviewed by our dentist in order to minimize the risks associated with sedation.
We understand that dental treatment can be costly at times. Our team will discuss your payment options with you depending on the treatment needed and the cost.
Yes! We see children of all ages for their routine checkups and cleanings, as early as age 1! In some cases and only when needed, we will refer them to a pediatric dentist to receive the care if we are unable to provide it.
A regular cleaning, also known as a Prophy, is for patients who have healthy gums with no bleeding or bone loss. Patients who have periodontal disease, bone loss, bleeding or excess bacterial buildup, will require a more advanced cleaning to prevent the progression of their periodontal condition. A “simple” cleaning will not address the cause of the disease and will result in further progression of it, possibly leading to tooth loss and infection.
